Purpose: Perform sleep studies using guidelines. Maintain sleep lab environment of care
Tasks:
- Set up, maintain, calibrate, clean, and sterilize sleep equipment.
- Independently perform sleep studies using established guidelines in pediatric, adult and geriatric patient populations. Examples of tests include nocturnal polysomnogram (NPSGs), titration studies for CPAP, BiPAP, ASV, AVAP and split night studies, home study tests, Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT) and Maintenance of wakefulness (MWT).
- Troubleshoot, problem solve and use critical thinking to resolve issues before, during and after sleep studies.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in the sleep lab.
- Hear, see, ambulate and communicate with patients as they arrive and depart the sleep lab.
- Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, in the English language.
- Board Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
