The Director, M&A and Corporate Development will be responsible for executing a meaningful share of our add-on growth strategy. The individual will be responsible for identifying, developing, prioritizing and maintaining a robust pipeline of add-on affiliation targets, financial and operational analytics and modeling, presenting and negotiating letters of intent with target companies, leading transaction diligence and negotiating deal documents. The Director, M&A and Corporate Development will also be secondarily involved with supporting post- close integration of new affiliations, organic growth initiatives and strategic direction. This position will report to the Chief Development Officer and has a high level of visibility and interaction with SCP and the Board of Directors.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead add-on affiliation sourcing through existing physician relationships, proactive outreach, and industry and medical specialty conference attendance; prioritization through quantitative and qualitative scoring criteria; conduct preliminary target and market-specific research and diligence
  • Drive frequent communication and structure strategic touch points with affiliation targets to develop relationships and manage the affiliation process from initial outreach to successful closing
  • Think and act strategically and creatively to continue developing a best-in-class target outreach and top-of-the-funnel lead machine to support robust affiliation pipeline
  • Lead and perform deal-related analysis, including financial modeling, due diligence and negotiations
  • Manage deal structuring/negotiations and due diligence for affiliations; work with legal counsel as required; interact with lenders as required
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of affiliation targets through personal networking and leveraging the relationships of the physicians, executive team, Board of Directors and SCP
  • Provide leadership toward additional value-added activities and support operational and departmental excellence. Maintain honest and ethical conduct at all times
  • Through personal example, establish the style and approach which will characterize the company‚Äôs dealings with the marketplace
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of total work experience
  • Ability to lead a deal process from initial screening of the opportunity to close of a transaction
  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Economics or a business-related major
  • Strong self-starter with an innate interest in interacting with affiliation targets, including related travel for affiliation sourcing, general relationship-building initiatives and deal process management
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating strategies, theses and rationale concisely, including presentations internally and to target affiliations
  • Strong organizational skills; must be able to manage and prioritize multiple business objectives and projects with the proper sense of urgency
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
  • Exceptional written and oral presentation skills; ability to present concisely and with detail
