Audiology Assistant 

Primary Objective

The Audiology Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to the Audiology team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.


Essential Functions

  • Collect, enter and verify patient demographic and insurance information in the electronic health records (EHR) system.
  • Schedule/reschedule/cancel patient appointments in the EHR.
  • Perform checks, troubleshooting and minor repairs to hearing aids, earmolds and other amplification devices under the direction of the Audiologists.
  • Manage hearing aid orders, device repairs and manufacturer returns and follow up on the status of orders/repairs.
  • Maintain office and clinical supply stock.
  • Assist with form completion, including purchase agreements, returns and repairs.
  • Clean hearing aids and other amplification devices and assist with equipment maintenance and biological checks.
  • Enter maintain and analyze Sycle data with quarterly reporting.
  • Follow up on patients not immediately interested in hearing aid evaluations, missed appointments, or purchasers not following up for checks.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to utilize an Electronic Medical Record system.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word and Teams.
  • Ability to communicate professionally (written and verbal).
  • Ability to answer emails and voicemails in a timely manner.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED required.


Experience

  • Experience in Audiology, hearing science or Speech Language Pathology preferred.
  • Experience in a medical office setting preferred.
